It’s not often that I get to go up to North Jersey for a photo session, but when an old friend from high school asked me to photograph her family, I couldn’t resist.
Victoria and I became friends in art class. We both had a passion for creating and wanted to be art teachers. In the years since, we’ve remained friends on Facebook. So when I saw that she was expecting a baby girl, I was super excited for her. Victoria reached out to me saying that she loved my work and was wondering if I would photograph her family for their first family portrait. We planned out the perfect photo session for Victoria, Corey, and their baby girl Zoey in Hoboken.
I met the family at a small park on the Hoboken waterfront for their photo session. It was a beautiful Saturday and there were lots of families and people there. But that didn’t stop us from capturing some truly beautiful photographs of just the three of them. Zoey was such a sweet baby and happy to be out in the park that day.
I was able to get a few really great images of Victoria, Corey, and Zoey all together, plus a few of Zoey by herself. Zoey was such a good sport and loved having a little tummy time on a blanket by herself. There was a line of perfect yellow and orange trees that we were able to use as a backdrop. We even got some photos with the New York City skyline behind them.
I am so happy that, even though we haven’t spoken in years, Victoria reached out to me. You will only have one “first” and I am so honored that she and Corey chose me to take their first ever family portraits.
